California Dreamin'
I'm in the computer room at the training centre where I'm staying this week, so privacy is not really... happening. But anyway, I'm typing this in a teeny weeny box hidden at the bottom of the screen!
I've had a day of training, learning all about psychometric tests, scoring, administering them, which tests to use etc. That all finished at about 4.30 and I went for a dip in the outdoor heated pool with the woman who's in the next room to mine. She's called Jan, is from Walsall and is a bit gutted about West Bromich Albion getting relegated! We did want to try out the sauna as well but it was locked so that'll have to wait. I've even done my homework already and everything! Dinner is served at 7.30 and I've already pre-selected a smoked salmon terrine for starter, followed by char grilled rump steak with home made chips!! I get the feeling I'm going to eat very well this week...
My room is basic but comfortable - there's a TV, desk, drink making facilities... I've even managed to flood the bathroom with a dodgy shower screen already - how at home am I?!
But here's the really shit hot good news... C and I have booked our holiday. We headed out on Saturday, went to Thomas Cook and were quoted the ridiculous price of �700 to fly to Mexico. We trawled the internet a little bit in Victoria, and spotted some comparitively cheap prices for flights elsewhere and went off to Trailfinders in High Street Kensington. Ladies and Gentlemen, we have booked a fly drive holiday to Cali-FOR-NI-A!!! We're flying out to Los Angeles on September 6th, picking up a suitably sexy Pontiac Sunbird convertible and embarking on a kick ass road trip via my aunty's place in LA, my one cousin in Simi Valley and my other cousin in Temecula, and finishing, baby in Vegas, with the Grand Canyon, Palm Springs, San Diego and wherever else the road takes us. I'm sure I've mentioned in here before how driving around America is a huge ambition of mine, so you should have some idea of how completely excited I am about this. I have already been making plans of what to wear in the casinos, how many camera films to take and what music we're going to listen to on the open road (Tom Petty probably!). It's 4 months away, which means I have 4 months to save like crazy to make this holiday a total indulgence.
